Shooting Form Mirror
How it works
1. Shoot close. Pick a spot where your form holds. If your shot breaks down, move closer before you change your form.
2. Phone in front of you, on the line to the rim. Behind the rim on the bleachers or against the wall, about chest high, or in a parent's hands with the back camera. Head and feet in frame. No hoop? Shoot it straight up and catch it.
3. Shoot 10. Same routine every shot. No coaching mid-set. After shot 10 you get your Shot Report: one priority and one KDT drill.
RepeatabilityHow much your numbers move from shot to shot. 100 means the same shot every time. KDT does not grade you against one perfect form. Your own repeatable shot is the standard.
Release lineHow far your forearm leans off straight up at the finish. With the phone straight in front of you on the line to the rim, 0 means straight up the line. Out is toward your shooting side. Across is across your body.
Elbow lineAt your set point, how far your elbow sits off the line under your wrist. Out means flared to the side. In means tucked across.
RhythmTime from the bottom of your dip to the release.
Set pointHow high you set the ball: your wrist above your shoulders, as a share of your torso.
LandingWhere you land compared to where you took off, side to side, as a share of your shoulder width.
Follow-throughHow long your shooting arm stays up after the release.
Signature shotYour most typical shot so far. The dashed arm during the release and the replay compare you to it.
Every number is a phone-camera estimate. A camera off to the side shifts the release line, so set the phone straight in front of you. Use the numbers to compare your own shots.
Everything runs in this browser tab. No video and no numbers leave this phone. Your best score is kept on this phone only.
